Editorial Standards & Corrections
Scrollan exists to make U.S. news readable for everyone, in their own language. This page explains how our stories are made, how we use artificial intelligence, how we attribute sources, and how we correct mistakes.
1. Mission and independence
Scrollan is an independent publication. We are not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any political party, government, campaign or advocacy organization. We currently carry no advertising; no advertiser or sponsor influences story selection or wording.
2. How our stories are made
- Human curation. A human editor selects each story we publish from the reporting of established news organizations.
- AI-assisted writing. The story is rewritten with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools into an original article in clear, plain language, simultaneously in nine languages. The AI is instructed to use only the facts present in the source material and to invent nothing — no numbers, names, dates or quotes that are not in the source.
- Human review and publication. The editor reviews the article, sets the headline and image, and publishes it. Nothing goes live without a human decision.
We disclose this openly: every Scrollan article is AI-assisted and human-curated.
3. Sourcing and attribution
Every article names and links to the original reporting source on its page. We treat the source's reporting as the factual record; where sources conflict or a story is developing, we say so. We do not present other outlets' original reporting as our own investigative work.
4. Accuracy
We aim for accuracy over speed. Plain-language rewriting must never change the meaning of the underlying reporting. If source material is thin, our article stays short rather than speculating. Despite this, errors can occur — in the source, in translation, or in the rewriting process.
5. Corrections policy
- Send correction requests to corrections@scrollan.app with the article link and the issue.
- We review promptly and aim to act within 24 hours of verification.
- Minor errors (typos, formatting) are fixed silently.
- Material errors (facts, figures, names, misleading framing) are corrected in all nine language versions, and where the error was significant we note the correction on the article.
- If a story proves fundamentally wrong, we unpublish it rather than leave it standing.
6. Neutrality and opinion
Scrollan publishes news, not opinion. Our style rules prohibit editorializing, loaded adjectives and clickbait framing. Where a topic is contested, we attribute claims to the parties making them.
7. Images
Article images are either licensed, in the public domain (for example official U.S. government photography), from free-license libraries, or used from the cited source with credit. Every image carries a visible credit line. Complaints about image use are handled under our Copyright & DMCA Policy — typically within 24 hours.
8. Bylines
Articles are published under the Scrollan newsroom byline unless an individual author is named. The responsible publisher is Berkay Dinçer (New Jersey, United States).
