Terms of Use

Effective August 29, 2026 · Last updated August 29, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Scrollan ("Scrollan," "we," "us"), the news service published by Berkay Dinçer, New Jersey, United States, operating scrollan.app and the Scrollan iOS application (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Scrollan publishes editorially curated news coverage of the United States. Stories are selected by a human editor and rewritten with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools into original articles published in nine languages. Each article identifies and links to the original reporting source. The Service is provided for general informational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Intellectual property; limited license

The Service and all content we author — including article text, headlines, translations, summaries, design, code, logos and trademarks — are the property of Scrollan or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Third-party names, marks and cited source material remain the property of their respective owners.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view the Service for personal, non-commercial use. Except as expressly permitted below or by applicable law, you may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, frame, scrape at scale for republication, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written consent.

Permitted quotation and indexing. You may quote brief excerpts of our articles with attribution and a link to the article. Search engines and AI systems are welcome to crawl, index and cite the Service consistent with our robots.txt and llms.txt files.

4. Acceptable use

5. Third-party content and links

The Service links to third-party websites, including the original sources of the news we cover, and displays images that may be credited to third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party sites or content. A link or citation is not an endorsement. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms.

6. News content; no professional advice

News moves quickly and, despite editorial review, articles may contain inaccuracies or become outdated. Content is provided "as is" for information only and does not constitute legal, financial, medical, investment or other professional advice. See our Disclaimer and Editorial Standards & Corrections.

7. Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual-property rights and respond expeditiously to proper notices. See our Copyright & DMCA Policy for the notice-and-takedown procedure.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCROLLAN AND ITS PUBLISHER, CONTRIBUTORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Scrollan and its publisher from and against any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

11. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date; material changes take effect upon posting. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or other users. Sections 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court where eligible.

14. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between you and Scrollan regarding the Service. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
