In the Chitwan region of Nepal, a mother grieves the loss of her 21-year-old son, who died in devastating floods that have affected Nepal and China.

Although she knows her son has passed, she was unable to see him before his body was prepared for cremation, which brings her some measure of comfort amid the tragedy.

The floods have claimed more than 1,000 lives across the two countries, leaving many families struggling to identify their loved ones.

As a result, numerous victims have been laid to rest in unmarked graves, reflecting the scale of the disaster and the difficulties faced by the affected communities.
